An amazing new 2008 rendition of "Sky Fits Heaven" performed by members of the PS22 Chorus. We are probably going to be adding acoustic guitar to this, but I was in a hurry to post the video because I think it came out pretty darn good. It surprised me how well the song translated into a beautiful piano version.
It's a pity the most recent generation only knows Madonna perhaps for her duet with Justin Timberlake on "4 minutes", her performance at the MTV Europe Awards with Britney Spears, or her latest divorce scandal (or lack thereof) with Guy Ritchie. When she made the LIKE A PRAYER album, she really became a force in the music world. And RAY OF LIGHT is probably one of the best and most influential dance albums of all time, in my opinion. And this song is one of Madonna's best. She did a fantastic live version during her Drowned World Tour in 2001.
Anyway, this "remix" is still a work in progress, but the new PS22 Chorus of 2009 are really coming across....
The PS22 Chorus is not a middle, intermediate, or high school group. It is a public elementary fifth grade chorus and the kids have sung with the likes of Tori Amos and Crowded House. The kids average about 10 years old and have already begun to take over the world....
