Hear Judy Torres as you've never heard her before, singing her classic dance hit "No Reason To Cry" with our fifth grade chorus. We performed this without rehearsal.
Judy Torres had no idea we were going to learn her song and ask her to do it with us upon her visit, and she was a great sport in doing so! She really got into it, and held nothing back! She sang with the chorus like she was singing for a stadium of thousands. And it was a fierce performance!! You can feel the energy in the room as you watch it! (Fun to watch the kids' reactions as she powerhouses!!)
I think EVERYONE in the room was being blown away in the process of it's creation, including Judy herself at the metamorphosis of the song from a free-style dance hit to a Tori Amos influenced piano ballad! At one point she even forgot the words because she was getting lost in the experience! But Judy, the kids, and I -- we all rolled with it together and I think it was an inspired merger. Hope y'all agree!
Judy, thank you so much for coming to PS22 and giving so much of yourself to our kids. You are truly a special person....
